History
The Ashenground Community Centre was built to replace a dilapidated Church Hall which was home to many of the groups now meeting in the centre. It is a Charitable Trust Limited by Guarantee and is managed on a day-to-day basis by the Centre Manager and a Management Committee made up of user group representatives and members of the Community. The Trustee Board oversee the strategic direction of the Centre and, as the land is leased by the Ascension Church next door, the Board members are from the Church and local Community.
We opened our doors in October 2007 and have gone from strength to strength. Many groups have been with us since the beginning providing a variety of activities for all to enjoy. There’s children’s groups including Preschool, Toddlers, Singing, Dance and Language classes. Exercise groups including Karate, Jazz, Folk Dancing and Table Tennis. Relaxing groups like Yoga, Pilates and Art. Wellbeing groups for people with various conditions and for their Carers, and much more.
